Derya Yannier named Fenerbahce assistant GM

After three years at the Turkish Basketball Federation as the director of men’s leagues, Derya Yannier moves to Fenerbahce Beko as the new assistant general manager, the team announced Friday.

Yannier, 36, retired as a player at 28 due to injury following stints at Ulkerspor, Besiktas, Banvit, ITU, and other Turkish teams. He was part of the Ulkerspor Turkish League championship team in 2006.

The newest addition to the administrative staff of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague powerhouse since moved on to become the GM of Eskisehir in 2014 and again in 2016 prior to landing his TBF position in 2018.

Fener also confirmed 23 August as the opening date of the training camp. The team will move to the Topuk Plateau facilities from 26 August to 3 September. Preseason games, including clashes with UNICS Kazan and Turk Telekom, are scheduled between 4 and 18 September.
