Just days after expecting him to return to Greece for the upcoming season,TJ Bray and Panathinaikos are parting ways.
As the club announced Bray will not return to the Greens for the upcoming season “due to personal reasons”.
It remains unclear what those reasons are, since Panathinaikos for a long time tried to release and replace the player. However, at this point Bray was expected at least to start the season in Greece.
After this turn of events, Panathinaikos is back on the market to add a point guard in their roster, even if they have already six non Greek players under contract which is the limit for the Greek league games.
Bray, 29, averaged 10.8 points and 3.0 assists in 24:14 minutes in the 2020-21 Greek League, helping Panathinaikos win the championship title. He joined the team in February after beginning the season with Bayern Munich and then having a brief stint with Zaragoza.
