After parting ways with Unicaja Malaga due to a failed medical test, Marco Spissu found an agreement with Unics Kazan for the upcoming season with an option for another one.
Spissu made club history as the first Italian to join Unics’ ranks. This will be the player’s first EuroLeague as well as VTB League stint, after playing in the Italian League and the Basketball Champions League so far in his career.
The 26-year-old played for Sassari during the past four years, averaging 12.6 points and 5.8 assists last season. He was also part of the Italian national team that made its way to the Tokyo Olympics by upsetting Serbia in the qualifiers and eventually reached the quarterfinals in the biggest sporting event.
