Lokomotiv prevailed over Zalgiris Kaunas with a 76-69 win in the Gloria Cup opener, held in Antalya, Turkey.
Johnathan Motley paced the efforts of the Russian side with 21 points and 12 rebounds, Darius Thompson had 18 points and Zahar Vedischev added 10.
On the other end, Joffrey Lauvergne was the leading scorer for Zalgiris with 17 points, Emmanuel Mudiay had 11 points and Tyler Cavanaugh added 9 points and 7 rebounds.
Anadolu Efes faces Tofas on Thursday (18:00 CET) for the second showdown of the tournament.
Earlier in the day, AS Monaco defeated Lavrio 79-63 to complete its run in Greece with a victory.
It was a special game for forward Alpha Diallo, who returned to Lavrio’s court after spending the 2020-21 season with the Greek club.
