Crvena Zvezda announced Friday they have signed 19-year-old guard Marko Gusic to a four-year deal. This marks Gusic’s first professional contract.
The Serbian youngster was part of Crvena Zvezda‘s junior team since 2019 and this offseason he spent the entire preparation period with the senior team of the club.
“This is a big honor for me, but it is also an obligation to continue with hard work in the future. This is also a proof that hard work always pays off as I managed to reach the senior team despite the injury I suffered last year. Every training with this team and coach Radonjić is a huge experience for me and a big opportunity to learn many things. Crvena zvezda is my club. I did not hide that in 2019 when I arrived here and I won’t hide it now. The support that this club gave me during the period when I was recovering from injury meant a lot to me and that is why I will try to use every minute during trainings and games to improve my skills and to try to repay the club that stood by me in difficult times,” said Gusic after his signing, per aba-liga.com.
Gusic is the second back-to-back young signee on Zvezda’s roster, as the Serbian team also added forward Nemanja Popovic on a three-year deal on Thursday.
