Zenit St. Petersburg will be able hold its October games with 30 percent capacity after a decision by the local government to allow this percentage of fans in all events that are held in the city.
Fans will be required to provide a COVID-19 vaccination certificate in order to be able to enter closed areas where events are held, including the Gazprom-Arena that hosts the Zenit games.
Coronavirus cases in Russia have seen a big increase over the last couple of weeks with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin describing the situation as “tense.” There were reports of over 20,000 new COVID-19 cases per day.
