Hassan Martin had fluids removed from both knees to recover. He plans to resume training with Olympiacos on Sunday.
Martin, 25, was out for Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 6 and Round 7 this week. Despite being sidelined with the knee issue, his side secured a couple of wins at home, against ALBA Berlin on Tuesday and Fenerbahce Beko on Thursday. He averaged 3.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest over the five first rounds of the competition logging just under 12 minutes per match under Greek head coach Giorgos Bartzokas.
The Reds are set to host AS Monaco with Martin projected after the knee aspiration to be available next Friday. Olympiacos enters Round 8 enjoying the view from tied for fourth place in the standings at 5-2. Both losses were on the road against CSKA Moscow and FC Barcelona, while a 5-0 run at the Peace and Friendship Stadium makes out the remaining W-L tally.
The former Rhode Island standout going through his second season at the Greek powerhouse has also put up 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds through three matches in the domestic Stoiximan Basket League. Olympiacos is in the lead at 4-0 with the next game coming up next weekend opposite Peristeri Vitabiotics on the road.
Since going unselected in the 2017 NBA draft, he has displayed his talents in Japan, Germany, and Montenegro. He made his way to the Basketball Champions League while at medi Bayreuth and to the 7DAYS EuroCup at Buducnost VOLI. From there, he moved to the EuroLeague posting 9.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 24 appearances in the 2020-21 season.
