Lamar Peters and Bitci Baskonia have a deal, per Eurohoops sources.

Peters, 23, has already mentioned on social media that he is heading to Spain. The deal is in place, but he has not yet signed a contract to complete his move to the team based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, looking to bounce back after a rough stretch, early in its 2021-22 campaign.

UPDATE: Baskonia confirmed Peters inking a deal until the end of the 2021-22 season.

Coming out of Mississippi State, he went undrafted in 2019 but joined the New York Knicks. After appearing in four Summer League matches, he ended up in the G League posting 17.7 points, 7.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per contest for the Westchester Knicks.

Midway through his sophomore pro season, the American point guard, born in New Orleans, opted to display his talents overseas by joining Frutti Extra Bursaspor. He went for 18.7 points, 7.3 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in the 7DAYS EuroCup, and also had 9.9 points, 6.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per match in Turkey’s BSL.

Following a stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2021 Summer League, Peters will be back in the Old Continent shifting from EuroCup to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, and from the Turkish League to Spain’s ACB.

Baskonia has lost the last four games across all competitions falling to 3-4 in Europe’s premier club continental competition and 3-5 in the arguably strongest domestic league of the continent.

Alec Peters, 54th pick in the 2017 NBA draft, scheduled to have knee surgery adds on the recent struggles for the team coached by Dusko Ivanovic.
