Marc Gasol recently “broke off” his silence, stating that he’s not considering retirement yet. There have been reports linking him to his own Girona of the Spanish second division, though nothing was confirmed.
While Gasol stated he wants to train and get back in shape after staying away from action for quite a while, Juan Carlos Navarro confirmed Barcelona’s interest to bring back the 36-year-old Spanish NT legend.
The former captain of Barcelona and the current team manager of the basketball section confirmed that that the team is “in talks” to bring Gasol to the team. “There are talks but there is no negotiation, although he has not given any negative answer”, told Navarro on EFE as adapted by Mundo Deportivo. “He knows of our interest and he has the last word. I will not deny that I would like to count on him”, Navarro further explained.
It’s no secret that the 2019 champion has been a target for the Spanish club for quite a while now. Last season, Barcelona also brought in Pau Gasol, who ended his career with the Blaugranas this autumn.
