Three monetary penalties, including the €140,000 fine for Dimitris Giannakopoulos, were announced by Euroleague Basketball on Monday evening.
Olympiacos head coach Giorgios Bartzokas and Panathinaikos OPAP head coach Dimitris Priftis were on the receiving end of the remaining fines in the latest disciplinary sanctions. The fines were set at €4,500 and €3,000, respectively.
Per the press release:
• Giorgios Bartzokas, head coach of Olympiacos Piraeus, has been sanctioned with a fine of €4,500 for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on occasion of its away game against Anadolu Efes Istanbul under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
• Dimitris Priftis, head coach of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, has been sanctioned with a fine of €3,000 for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on occasion of its away game against FC Bayern Munich under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
• Mr Dimitris Giannakopoulos, individual associated to Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, has been sanctioned with a fine of €140,000 for statements proven offensive to Euroleague Basketball competitions and its managing authorities, in accordance with Article 24.1.g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
