Shortly after parting ways with Zvezdan Mitrovic, AS Monaco found the replacement and Sasa Obradovic will be the new head coach of the team, per the club announcement.

Obradovic last coached Crvena Zvezda in 2020 but parted ways with the club prematurely. He returns to Monaco, the club he coached back in the 2019-20 season.

“You know it’s a beautiful destination. The club is growing, and had very good results last season. Monaco has invested heavily and has a bright future ahead of it. It’s an ambitious club with people who want a lot in charge. It’s a great opportunity for a coach,” Obradovic said and added.

“There are a lot of players who have a very good level, worthy of the greatest European competition. But there is a lack of team cohesion, and that will be my challenge. Make sure that we become a team, and to establish this confidence. It takes a lot more consistency, and the players have not yet reached their maximum potential.”
