Fenerbahce Beko is set to add American center Jehyve Floyd, as confirmed by Eurohoops sources.
Floyd, 24, has been expected to be released by Panathinaikos OPAP. His role varying from brief appearances to not suiting up in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and being sidelined since Round 5 of Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League Regular Season, he has been looking to leave the Greens. A left hip injury forced him to the sidelines in recent weeks.
The former Holy Cross standout joined the Greek giant last July. He helped his new team win the Greek Super Cup in September, averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per EuroLeague contest, and five points and three rebounds per game in the Greek League under Greek play-caller Dimitris Priftis.
Since turning pro in 2019, Floyd introduced himself to the European stage playing for Larisa in Greece. From a brief stint at Promitheas, he moved to Hapoel Gilboa Galil early in the 2019-20 season. Following the successful run in Israel as a driving force leading his side to the Finals of the Winner League Playoffs, he returned to Greece but will move to Turkey midway through the 2021-22 season.
Greek outlet SportFm.gr first reported his move from Panathinaikos to Fenerbahce.
The Turkish powerhouse has improved to 7-9 in EuroLeague after four wins in a row. Up next, a trip to France to collide with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne Thursday. At the domestic level, the team coached by Sasha Djordjevic carrying a 12-1 W-L tally leads the standings, one game ahead of rival Anadolu Efes.
