Olympiacos Piraeus announced Saturday that a member of the team tested positive for COVID-19.
The confirmed case has been isolated and according to the instructions of the Greek National Public Health Organization. Players, coaching staff, and the team staff underwent further PCR testing on Christmas day and the results are expected.
Olympiacos is currently third in the EuroLeague standings with a 12-5 record, following a win against Greek rivals Panathinaikos OPAP Athens on Thursday for Round 17.
The Reds play against Ionikos for the Greek Cup this upcoming Monday (December 27), while on Wednesday (December 29), they will host CSKA Moscow for the tip-off of the second leg of the EuroLeague regular season.
