Olympiacos’ COVID-19 cases have jumped to eight total, as the Greek side confirmed three more on Tuesday. Seven players and one member of the staff have turned in positive results in PCR testing conducted this week.
The confirmed cases remain in isolation per the team’s announcement and further testing will follow.
Olympiacos is the sixth EuroLeague club with several members out with COVID-19, including Real Madrid (10 players and head coach Pablo Laso), Olimpia Milano (11 members), ASVEL Villeurbanne (four players and four staff members), Panathinaikos and Barcelona (three members in each team).
The Greek side faces CSKA Moscow this Wednesday (December 29, 20:00 CET) at home for Round 18 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Two Round 18 games have already been postponed due to the outbreak; Fenerbahce – Real Madrid and Olimpia Milano – ALBA Berlin.
