Real Madrid is strategically thinking ahead with a renewal plan in mind. A few days prior, it has been reported that the Spanish club plans to bring back forward Gabriel Deck after he’s been waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
With Guerschon Yabusele also committed long-term to the squad, Real’s next big target is to bring Juancho Hernangomez back to Europe this summer, as it has been reported by El Mundo’s Lucas Sáez-Bravo.
Hernangomez, 26, was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies following a rather tough run with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2020-21, and last August, he moved to the Boston Celtics via trade in exchange for Kris Dunn, Carsen Edwards, and a 2026 second-round pick swap.
So far in the 2021-22 campaign, he’s had a limited role on the Celtics‘ rotation, with a career-low average of 1.1 points, 1.4 rebounds per 5.6 minutes in 18 contests. Hernangomez still has one more season on his non-guaranteed contract – worth approximately $7.5M.
