The 2022 EuroLeague Final Four, scheduled to take place in Berlin between May 27 and 29 is moving to Belgrade, according to Mozzart Sport.
The report notes that concrete steps have already been taken and the leadership of the EuroLeague is close to making the final decision to move the Final Four to Belgrade. It should be noted that so far, EuroLeague sources don’t confirm the news.
According to the report, Belgrade deputy mayor Goran Vesic negotiated with EuroLeague last week and offered Belgrade to replace Berlin, because due to the current epidemiological data in the German capital, the presence of fans in the stands would be impossible. At the same time, the Serbian capital gave guarantees to Euroleague that fans will be able to attend the event, but only with valid confirmation of vaccination.
Jordi Bartomeu is expected to travel to Belgrade next week, to meet with Vesic, Mozzart Sport further mentions.
Belgrade was the host city of the 2018 Final Four, in which Real Madrid lifted its 10th and most recent title.
