Zalgiris Kaunas is facing Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul for Round 22 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Thursday, though the team will have significant absences.
Janis Strelnieks will remain sidelined as he suffered a hamstring injury during the King Mindaugas Cup game against CBet Jonava, while there’s no timetable for his return.
Adding up to that, Arturas Milaknis, Tai Webster and Paulius Jankunas tested positive for COVID-19 in tests conducted Tuesday, Zalgiris confirmed. Youngsters Titas Sargiunas, Liutauras Lelevicius and Motiejus Krivas will be registered into Jure Zdovc’s squad for Thursday’s game.
Fenerbahce has significant absences of its own, with Nando De Colo and Jan Vesely still sidelined due to respective injuries. Head coach Sasa Djordjevic will also be missing from the game, as he tested positive for COVID-19 late last week.
