ASVEL Villeurbanne star guard Elie Okobo will be operated for a cyst in his right shoulder and will be sidelined for six weeks, the French club announced.
Okobo has been feeling shoulder pain over the last weeks and the examinations revealed a cyst that has to be removed. He will undergo surgery this Thursday (3/2).
Through the 2021-22 EuroLeague season so far, Okobo has been averaging team-highs 15.8 points and 4.0 assists, plus 2.7 rebounds, along with 12.6 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in the French Jeep Elite League. His team is 13th in the EuroLeague standings and third in France.
