While Juancho Hernangomez is getting ready for his part in Netflix’s new series ‘Hustle’, co-produced by LeBron James, he is still considering his options about a possible return to Europe.
Hernangomez has been a reported target of Real Madrid for next season, and according to the latest reports by Marca, Barcelona is “already in the race” to sign him if he decides to return to Europe.
After being traded to the San Antonio Spurs last month and sent over to the Utah Jazz earlier in February, the Spanish power forward is now on to his fifth team in his respective seasons in the NBA (Nuggets, Timberwolves, Celtics, Spurs, Jazz), while he has played just 25 games this season between the last three teams, with an average of 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6 minutes on the court.
As further cited by Marca, Hernangomez, 26, has traveled to Madrid, taking advantage of the All-Star break to “disconnect and be with his family”.
Hernangomez’s name has appeared on the list of players who could be cut by the Jazz; if so happens, there will be a 48-hour deadline for any other NBA team to sign him, and if not, the player will become a free agent. As Marca highlights, the Spanish international’s priority is to end this season with an NBA team, though a move to Europe “could be accelerated” if he enters free agency.
