After the reports of Mindaugas Kuzminskas deciding to depart from Zenit Saint Petersburg, three more Lithuanian nationals – Kazys Maksvytis, Marius Grigonis, Arturas Gudaitis – made the same choice and will leave their respective Russian teams, according to BasketNews.

Gudaitis joins Kuzminskas in the decision to leave Zenit while Shabazz Napier also left the team. Grigonis would be leaving CSKA Moscow with which he signed a three-year deal in June 2021.

His teammate, Tornike Shengelia decided to leave Russia as well and his future with CSKA remains questionable.

So far, none of them has officially announced it due to an extraordinary situation. According to the same report, the players have been discussing the possibilities and ways to terminate or suspend contracts with their agents, the EuroLeague Players’ Association (ELPA), the EuroLeague itself, and FIBA.

Even without waiting for the final decisions, they are determined to leave Russia and Mindaugas Kuzminskas has already come back to Lithuania.

Kazys Maksvytis, who is the head coach of the Lithuanian national team and PARMA Perm, will announce his decision after the World Cup Qualifiers, per the country’s Basketball Federation.
