Zalgiris Kaunas completed its EuroLeague run for the 2021-22 campaign with an 8-20 record and is planning ahead toward shaping its roster for the upcoming season by retaining guard Lukas Lekavicius and Edgaras Ulanovas.
The Lithuanian club has signed Lekavicius to a three-year contract extension, valid until the end of the 2024-25 season, and penned a new two-year deal with Ulanovas, active until the end of the 2023-24 season, per their official announcement Sunday.
Ulanovas averaged 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 27:28 minutes across 32 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in 2021-22, while Lekavicius posted averages of 10.2 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in an equal number of games during 23:45 minutes on the court.
28-year-old Lekavicius is headed to his seventh overall season with the team and fourth in a row. Ulanovas, 30, returned to Kaunas after spending the 2020-21 campaign with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and is en route to his eighth season with Zalgiris.
