On the latest episode of the Role Player podcast, presented by the Swish Culture, and hosted by Jordan Taylor and Anthony Goods, Errick McCollum made an appearance.
The 2016 EuroCup MVP and champion, among other things, talked about his rise to success coming from a DIII school, and why he chose to turn down an NBA offer to play in China and EuroLeague.
McCollum learned through experience the importance of finding a role and why high-level European basketball might be a better choice for some players than the limited NBA opportunities.
“For the younger players out there, I believe you should always chase the role. Whether that’s Europe, whether that’s G League, whether that’s NBA… You can’t make more money or solidify any longevity in your career if you’re on the bench.”
