Real Madrid almost made a sensation but ultimately fell to Anadolu Efes in the tight Final clash. Sergio Llull was perhaps the main engine behind the team’s success and in the process, he made history, becoming the all-time leader in assists when it comes to the Euroleague Final Four.
He was third on the list before the tournament but managed to dish out nine more and grab the top of the ranking with a total of 62 assists. He took over from Theo Paploukas who is now second with 59 while Sergio Rodriguez is third with 56 assists.
It was Llull’s eighth Euroleague Final Four appearance.

Real Madrid guard Sergio Llull became the all-time leader in assists at the EuroLeague Final Four over the weekend in Belgrade.
Llull arrived in Belgrade ranked third on the all-time charts with 53 Final Four assists. His 3 in the semifinal against FC Barcelona tied him with former teammate Sergio Rodriguez (56) for the second place. With 6 assists in the EuroLeague Championship Game, Llull soared by Theodoros Papaloukas (59) for the all-time lead with 62 assists. The 2022 Final Four was the eighth time Llull played at the pinnacle event on the EuroLeague calendar. His personal best at a Final Four was a 9-assist effort in leading Los Blancos past Fenerbahce Istanbul in the 2015 semifinals in Madrid. That season Llull lifted the first of his two EuroLeague crowns. The 2017 EuroLeague MVP, Llull is also seventh on the all-time assist charts with 1,260.
