Reigning back-to-back EuroLeague champion Anadolu Efes will be signing free-agent center Ante Zizic according to Eurohoops sources. The two sides have reached an agreement on a two-year deal, with an opt-out close after the first season.
Zizic, 25, averaged 12.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 21:05 minutes over 31 games of the 2021-22 EuroLeague with Maccabi Tel Aviv, helping the Israeli side return to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
It was the Croatian big man’s second year in Europe since his return from the NBA where he played from 2017 to 2020 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The addition of Zizic will cover the gap on the roster of Efes that will be left from the departure of Filip Petrusev. The Turkish powerhouse is also expected to sign former Final Four MVP Will Clyburn and center Josh Nebo.
Moshe Barda of ONE first reported that Efes and Zizic are nearing a deal.
