Serbian center Nikola Milutinov is under contract with CSKA through the next season, his agent Giorgos Panou made it clear talking to championat.com.
Milutinov, 27, has been linked to his former team Olympiacos, and to Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Fenerbahce Beko, according to multiple reports surfacing in recent days. “Nikola has a contract with CSKA for one more season,” underlined Panou, senior director of Octagon Europe, “So, the reports about Olympiacos, and Virtus and Fenerbahce as well, are false.”
The team based in Moscow is considered doubtful to play in the 2022-23 season of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war led Euroleague Basketball to withdraw its participation in March and annul previous results in the 2021-22 Regular Season. In contrast, Olympiacos, Virtus Bologna, and Fenerbahce are all projected to play in the next edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition.
The Serbian center averaged 7.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 blocks and 0.4 steals per contest before his side was retired from the 2021-22 EuroLeague season. Efforts in the VTB United League produced 13.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as the team coached by Dimitris Itoudis was held to the second place after losing to Zenit in the Playoffs Finals.
Upon completing a five-year stint at Olympiacos, he inked a three-year contract with CSKA in 2020. En route to become the 26th overall pick of the 2015 NBA draft, he previously spent three years playing for Belgrade giant Partizan from 2012 to 2015 and made his professional debut with Hemofarm in 2011-12.
