Pierria Henry recently announced his departure from Fenerbahce in order to join the Washington Wizards‘ minicamp this summer. The Turkish team clarified Saturday that Henry used the opt-out which is only applicable to the NBA, which means that in cases he decides to return to Europe, Fenerbahce has a right of first refusal.
As further reported by Eurohoops’ Aris Barkas, with Fenerbahce owning his rights in Europe, Henry is not an option for Real Madrid despite reports linking him to the Spanish club.
Henry, 29, averaged 7.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals with Fenerbahce in the 2021-22 season in EuroLeague. He produced an average of 8.5 points, 5.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals per game in the Turkish BSL, helping his team beat Anadolu Efes in the finals to be crowned the 2022 BSL champion.
