Maccabi Tel Aviv announced that Derrick Williams will continue his career elsewhere as the two sides have parted ways.
Williams, 31, moved to Europe in 2018 and played for Bayern, Fenerbahce, Valencia, and Maccabi on one-year stints. Last season, he averaged ten points and 3.4 rebounds over 59 games in Euroleague and Israeli League.
The second pick in the 2011 NBA Draft is looking to get back to the US and he was a part of the LA Lakers mini-camp for free agents that also included Darren Collison, Justin Tillman, Craig Randall II, Sindarius Thornwell, Olivier Sarr, Antonio Blakeney, and Jaylen Adams.
Williams played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers. He also logged two games for the LA Lakers in 2018 before moving overseas.
