Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced Monday they have signed power forward Jarell Martin to a two-year deal. Martin, 28, spent the previous two seasons with Sydney Kings following his NBA run with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic and will make his EuroLeague debut with the Israeli club.

Martin was selected with the 25th pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Grizzlies and began his professional career in Memphis, where he stayed until 2018.

Per Maccabi‘s announcement:

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv strengthened its squad by signing power forward Jarell Martin to a two-year deal. The 28-years-old, 6-10 player will join Oded Kattash’s emerging frontcourt after leading the Sydney Kings to the Australian NBL championship.

“Jarell is a very versatile player”, said head coach Oded Kattash, “He is a good offensive player and an excellent rebounder on both sides of the court. He played in the NBA and in Australia, so he will have to adapt to the EuroLeague, but I trust him that he will do it the best way possible. He is a team player who played a major part for the Aussie champions last season”.

Jarell Martin is a big forward who showcases great timing, athleticism and good shooting ability from long range. Last season he hit 37.5% of his three-point attempts in the regular season, and increased that accuracy to 45%. He averaged 16 points and 7.9 boards per game in the regular season.
