In what turned to be a really close game, Zalgiris got the close 66-62 win over Zielona Gora on the road, thanks to some big plays in the end of the game and a 20-9 partial score in the last quarter.
Paulius Jankunas with 17 points and Brock Motum with 16 had a great game, while Renaldas Seibutis had 11 points and two key free throws. To be exact Motum with a tip in after a Paulius Jankunas missed shot gave to Zalgiris a 64-62 lead. Mateusz Ponitka lost the chance to tie the game after missing two crucial free throws with one minute left and Zalgiris after three offensive rebounds got the ball and a foul for Seibutis who made his shots from the charity line (66-62) with 17 seconds left. Nothing change until the end as both Ponitka and Djurisic missed their shots and couldn’t change the final points difference.
Olivier Hanlan also scored 14 points for Zalgiris, while Vlad Moldoveanu with 16 points and Lukasz Koszarek with 14 were Zielona Gora’s top scorers.
