With Tyler Dorsey moving to the NBA, Olympiacos is now targeting Isaiah Canaan for next season, per Eurohoops sources. According to the latest information, the two sides have reached a deal and the American guard will be joining the Reds.
Canaan spent two seasons with UNICS Kazan, averaging 11.8 points on 41% from the three-point line, and finished the 2021-22 season with Galatasaray NEF in Turkey. He was also considered a possible target for Fenerbahce, which was also interested in the NBA.
Canaan, 31, was selected with the 34th pick in the 2013 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets and spent seven seasons in the NBA, totaling for 235 games across 21 minutes on the court. In his best campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2016, Canaan averaged 11.0 points in 77 games (39 starts).
After ending the 2019-2020 season with the Stockton Kings in the NBA G-League, Canaan moved to Europe for the first time with UNICS and left the club upon the suspension of Russian teams from EuroLeague Basketball competitions.
