Nick Weiler-Babb will continue playing for FC Bayern Munich until the end of the 2023-24 season. He signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced Friday.

“I am excited to be back for another more years. I am excited to see my teammates again, see my coaches and definitely see the fans,” he commented on inking a new contract.

Weiler-Babb, 26, joined the team based in Munich a couple of years ago, coming off an impressive rookie season at MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. He previously played college basketball at Iowa State and Arkansas.

The Texas-born swingman has made his way to 62 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague over the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. Averaging 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks illustrate his statistical contribution to the team coached by Andrea Trinchieri. Bayern reached the Playoffs on both occasions and went the distance in the best-of-five series but was eventually knocked out by AX Armani Exchange Milan in 2021 and FC Barcelona in 2022.

Bayern was held as the runner-up in both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 editions of Germany’s easyCredit BBL and suffered an early exit in the latest quest to claim the German Cup, Weiler-Babb’s lone title corresponds to the 2021 German Cup also known as BBL-Pokal.

Before Weiler-Babb, both Othello Hunter and Augustine Rubit had signed new contracts to extend their stays. In addition, Vladimir Lucic, Ognjen Jaramaz, and Corey Walden are still under contract. Bayern also picked up youngster Danko Brankovic from Cibona.
