Vladimir Micov shared a statement via his agent, announcing his retirement Sunday. Micov, 37, finished his career with Buducnost VOLI, where he spent the 2021-22 season.

His statement reads:

“For the past 21 years, I have had the privilege of making my work a game, of winning, of losing, of learning, of pushing the limits and breaking my own records after defeat.

Every time it was an honor, a privilege and a pleasure to go out on the court and just play basketball.

I have been fortunate to work side by side with some of the best coaches and players I know.

After two decades, twelve clubs, eight cities and seven countries, I leave the game fulfilled and satisfied.
I don’t regret anything. With this last season, I’ve come full circle.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me in any way at any time.”

Micov began his career in 2003 with OOK Beograd and moved to Buducnost in 2005. He gained experience around Europe with Partizan, Panionios, Baskonia, Cantu, CSKA Moscow and Galatasaray, while he was crowned EuroCup champion with the latter in 2016.

He helped CSKA lift two VTB League titles in 2013 and 2014 and was part of the Milano squad that won the 2021 Italian Cup, among his several accolades.
