Vasilije Micic was among select guests at the 2022 AegeanBall Festival in Syros, amid Greek national team legends as well as now-retired Olympiacos great and tournament host Georgios Printezis, and talked about his expected jump to the NBA.

“I can say that this year, I’m ready to go to the NBA and that it’s time”, Micic said while speaking to COSMOTE TV. “Last year I wasn’t mentally ready because I wanted another year in Europe, but we’ll see. I am also very happy in Efes and we will see what happens. I’m enjoying the moment.”

The back-to-back EuroLeague champion and Final Four MVP also commented on his newly-found stardom in the Old Continent.

“Honestly, I don’t think about it that much. I have been playing since I was 16 years old and I control the pressure,” Micic added.

“There were also difficult moments in my career, but they were also important for the future. I didn’t go to Efes as a star, but I helped the team win. I am happy because we conquered a lot with Efes”.

Micic played against Sasha Vezenkov, who is also a candidate to leave Europe for the NBA and the Sacramento Kings but hinted that he might stay in Olympiacos and Greece after all.
