Serbian big man Filip Petrusev was the guest of the season finale of “A Quarter with Kyle Hines”, in the latest of his series of podcasts with Turkish Airlines EuroLeague stars-in-the-making, released Monday.

Petrusev, 22, discussed the learning experience behind the campaign at Anadolu Efes. Despite slipping out of the rotation and being released at the end of the 2021-22 season, he did enjoy becoming a EuroLeague champion in his hometown Belgrade.

Following up his stint at the Istanbul outfit, he talked about what basketball means for people in Serbia and the importance of representing his country.[Basketball] is a great pride for Serbian people, and just an honor for me to hopefully continue down that path and be able to keep on going and representing Serbia wherever I play, and obviously for the national team,” he said.

Entering the “Quick Shots” portion of the episode hosted by four-time EuroLeague champion Kyle Hines, the former Gonzaga standout revealed his favorite arena to visit, how he celebrated his first contract, the difficulties of dealing with Real Madrid’s Edy Tavares, and selecting without era or any other restrictions narrowed it down to Kobe Bryant as the player he would like to face one-on-one.
