Olimpia Milano has signed veteran Gigi Datome to a new deal for next season, the club officially announced Tuesday.

Olimpia Milano agreed on terms of a contractual extension with Gigi Datome.
“We have always considered Gigi a key member of our team for what he can do on the court and also what he brings to the table as an example on top of his dedication and professionalism. We are thrilled that we will keep working together,” Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said.
“I’m happy to prolong my journey with Olimpia Milano. I have the desire and the ambitions to keep doing better for a club with great aspiratons, and I’m thrilled about the chance to keep working with this group of people. At the same time, I’m very curious to know the teammates that are about to join us in order to help reach further goals,” Datome said.
During his first two seasons in Milano, Datome helped the team win the Italian championship, one Supercup and two Italian Cups, the 2021 one as an MVP. On top of it, he helped Olimpia qualify to the 2021 EuroLeague Final Four.
