AS Monaco announced that star guard Mike James signed a contract extension with the team until the end of the 2023-24 season. He comes from a stunning debut season with Monaco, during which he made the All-EuroLeague First Team.
James averaged 16.4 points, 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds last season in EuroLeague and led Monaco to the playoffs in the club’s first-ever appearance in the competition. The Monegasque side managed to force a five-game series against powerhouse Olympiacos Piraeus but fell 2-3.
In France, James had 14.9 points, 6.0 assists and 3.1 rebounds in the Jeep Elite regular season, along with 18.9 points, 4.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds in the playoffs. Monaco lost 2-3 to ASVEL Villeurbanne in the Finals.
