Ioannis Papapetrou was a hot name in the market last summer and it seems that the captain of Panathinaikos once more has suitors. His contract with Panathinaikos includes a manageable opt-out clause for 400.000 euros and if paid, it permits him to move to another EuroLeague team.
The deadline for the clause is tomorrow, a similar clause was already used by Nemanja Nedovic who moved to Crvena Zvezda, and nothing can be excluded for the future of Papapetrou.
However, one of the clubs presented as a possible suitor, Fenerbahce, will not make any move about acquiring Papapetrou per Eurohoops’ sources.
There are also reports about Anadolu Efes who was interested in Papapetrou last summer and it remains to be seen if anyone is ready to pay the clause and sign the player. If not, then Papapetrou will stay in Panathinaikos.
It has to be noted that his contract also includes an NBA out.
