AS Monaco announced the signing of John Brown to a two-year deal on Sunday, confirming Eurohoops’ prior reports.
Brown spent the 2021-22 season with UNICS Kazan and Germany Brescia. Prior to UNICS’ suspension from competing in the EuroLeague, he averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 1.3 assists per game in the competition.
“Already the environment in Monaco is magnificent,” said Brown. “I had already come a few times, whether in the Eurocup or the Euroleague. When I came back, I was able to realize the beauty of this place with the sun. It was more what I expected especially after being in Russia. To see the beach, and the sun, I think it’s a good return to reality (laughs). More seriously, from a basketball point of view, I joined Monaco because the project is ambitious, and the club gives itself the means to believe in it by putting in the necessary ingredients to achieve its objectives”.
Brown, 30, began his career with Virtus Roma in 2016 and has gained experience in Europe with Treviso and Brindisi prior to joining UNICS in 2020.
