Valencia officially secured the services of explosive Jonah Radebaugh. The newcomer signed a two-year contract, the team announced Monday.
Per the press release: “Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to incorporate American point guard Jonah Radebaugh (1.91, United States, 17/06/1997, 25 years old) to its men’s team for the next two seasons. The player competed the last two seasons with German MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, where he averaged 14.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 17.2 efficiency per game in the easy credit BBL last season. He is a versatile player, capable of providing offensive talent and physicality on defense at any of the outside positions.”
Radebaugh, 25, penned a contract with Lenovo Tenerife in late June, shortly before expanding his talents to the Montenegro national team in the recent international window. Activating the included option led him away from the team based in the Canary Islands way before actually displaying his talents for the home side at Santiago Martin for the first time.
The Northern Colorado product was coming off a brilliant campaign at MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, his first full season after joining the German side midway through the 2020-21 season. Debuting in the Basketball Champions League, he averaged 13.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest en route to the Star Lineup First Team. Ludwigsburg made it to the Final Four and ranked third in the season-ending tournament held in Bilbao.
At the domestic level, his side earned the fourth seed via Germany’s easyCredit BBL Regular Season. It went on to sweep ratiopharm Ulm and was forced to the opposite end of yet another three-game sweep by Alba Berlin in the Playoffs. An overtime loss to Hakro Merlins Crailsheim signaled the early exit from the German cup.
Chris Jones and James Webb III were the first arrivals for the team coached by Alex Mumbru during the offseason. Klemen Prepelic, Sam Van Rossom, and Martin Hermannsson all penned contract extensions.
