Extending a busy stretch, AS Monaco officially added Jaron Blossomgame. The Clemson product signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional season, the team announced Tuesday.
Blossomgame, 28, is the fourth offseason addition for La Roca Team. Elie Okobo, Jordan Loyd, and John Brown III already got in the picture ahead of the 2022-23 season. Other summer moves saw key players Mike James and Donta Hall both inking contract extensions as did head coach Sasha Obradovic.
The Atlanta-born small forward played college basketball at Clemson. After being selected with the 59th overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft, the early chunk of his professional career centered on the G League and also produced 27 appearances in the NBA as a player of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018-19 season. Switching to overseas opportunities, he joined Ironi Nahariya for the 2020-21 season and moved to ratiopharm Ulm last season.
“I am very happy to play in the highest level of European basketball and continue to develop,” he commented on the jump to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, “The NBA remains a goal in the back of my mind but I am totally focused on Monaco, the French league, and EuroLeague.”
The hot-shooting forward’s debut in the 7DAYS EuroCup produced 16.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. The All-EuroCup First Team member connected 55.8% two-pointers and 41.9% three-pointers as Ulm reached the Quarterfinals of the second-tier competition of Euroleague Basketball. Up next, the EuroLeague, France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A, and remaining domestic competitions.
