After spending the first professional year of his career as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, forward Yves Pons is moving to EuroLeague for French side ASVEL Villeurbanne. As Tony Parker’s club announced, the 23-year-old player signed a contract until 2024.
Pons, a Haitian-born French player, split the 2021-22 season with the Grizzlies and their G-League affiliate Memphis Hustle. He appeared in 12 games with the Grizzlies posting 1.1 points, and 1.0 rebounds while posting 9.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 25.4 minutes over nine matches in the G League.
“It’s great news to see Yves join our project,” ASVEL deputy chairman Gaetan Muller said per the club. “he’s a player we’ve been following for several years now. Very athletic and strong with significant room for improvement. His verticality should delight fans in Astroballe and there’s no doubt that his warrior mindset will be greatly appreciated.”
