Carsen Edwards officially announced by Fenerbahce

The new version of Fenerbahce wanted to add a shooter that can make a difference. With Tyler Dorsey choosing the move to the NBA, Carsen Edwards (22, 1.80) is officially the new member of the club with a one-year deal.

Per the official press release: Born on March 12, 1998, in Houston, Texas, Carsen Edwards played for Purdue throughout his college career from 2016-2019.

In his first year of college, Edwards played in 35 games, averaging 10.3 points (34% three points), 1.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds. In 37 games with Purdue in his second year, Edwards scored 18.5 points (40% three points), 2.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds. The accomplished guard helped his team set a conference record in wins during a great last season, while also being named to the top five of his conference. Edwards was also awarded the “Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year” award for his performance this season.

Edwards, who played 36 games with Purdue in the 2018-2019 season and averaged 24.3 points (36% three points), 2.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds, was once again selected in the top five in his own conference and was also in the second All-NCAA team. After the 2018-19 season, in which he broke many individual records, Carsen Edwards decided to join the NBA Draft.

He was selected 33rd by the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer 2019 NBA draft and was traded to the Boston Celtics. Edwards appeared in the Boston Celtics 2019 NBA Summer League, averaging 19.4 points, 1.4 assists, and 3.8 rebounds.

He began his professional career with the Boston Celtics. Playing 37 games in the NBA with the Boston Celtics in the 2019-20 season, Edwards averaged 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds, while also wearing the Maine Red Claws jersey of the G-League. He averaged 22.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds with the Red Claws in 13 games.

Carsen Edwards played in 31 games in the NBA with the Boston Celtics in the 2020-21 season, averaging 4.0 points and 0.8 rebounds. In the same season, Edwards also played for the Salt Lake City Stars in the G-League and averaged 26.7 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds. With this performance, Edwards became the top scorer in the G-League.

He then signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons in April 2022. Playing 4 games with this team, Edwards averaged 5.8 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 rebounds.

Carsen Edwards also represented the United States National Team at the 2017 Under-19 World Championships in Egypt.
