Coming off the gold medal-winning U20 national team of Spain, Millan Jimenez became a member of the senior squad of Valencia, the team announced Saturday.

Per ValenciaBasket.com: “Forward Millán Jiménez (1.99m, Calahorra, 09/16/2002, 19 years old) becomes immediately and for all intents and purposes a player in the Valencia Basket men’s pro team. The forward from La Rioja, who arrived at the Club in 2018, played a total of 31 games with our pro team last season and this summer was one of the important players in winning the gold medal for the Spanish team in the U20M European Championship. Last year Jiménez alternated his presence with the professional squad with the taronja second team, with which he reached the final of the promotion to the LEB Oro playoffs with 19.1 points with 37.5% in triples, 6,6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 21.1 index in the bronze category.”

Jimenez, 19, has already debuted at the senior club level, including a couple of brief showings in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 editions of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Surfacing as a permanent player on the first team is the next step in his career.

Apart from naming Alex Mumbru as the new head coach, Valencia added Chris Jones, Jonah Radebaugh, James Webb III, and Kyle Alexander during the offseason. Sam Van Rossom, Klemen Prepelic, and injured Martin Hermannsson all penned contract extensions. Coming back as well are Victor Claver, Xabier Lopez-Arostegui, Josep Puerto, Jaime Pradilla, Jasiel Rivero, and Bojan Dubljevic.
