The EuroLeague Players Association confirmed the members of the Players’ Board, ahead of the new season of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Alec Peters joined the Players’ Board, replacing departing Mateusz Ponitka, ELPA announced Wednesday. Kyle Hines, Adam Hanga, and Nikola Kalinic were re-elected.

Per the press release: “ELPA held its annual General Assembly prior to the 2022-2023 EuroLeague Season. ELPA management provided players with the 2021-22 season report, explained all regulatory and statutory change proposals and described the plans of the association for upcoming season, all of which were unanimously confirmed by the Player representatives.

As usual, the General Assembly was also an opportunity to renew the Players’ Board. Kyle Hines, Adam Hanga and Nikola Kalinic were re-elected for another two-year term as Vice Presidents. They will re-join ELPA President Tornike Shengelia and Vice Presidents Gigi Datome and Jayson Granger, who remains on the Players’ Board also as the representative of the EuroCup players. New addition to the Players’ Board is Alec Peters.

At the same time, Mateusz Ponitka has completed his time on the Players’ Board. ELPA management and players thank Mateusz for his time and dedication to the association and are looking forward to work with him again in the future.

For the second part of the meeting, three members of the ELPA Performance Advisory Board (PAB) presented their work and expertise to the players. Francesco Cuzzolin (strength & conditioning), Mar Rovira (sports psychology) and Julio Calleja-Gonzalez (scientific research) described the work they do in order to provide ELPA with best possible information regarding fundamental topics such as recovery, sleep, injury-prevention, nutrition, mental well-being and others. Information provided from PAB serves as a backbone for ELPA to be able to properly advise players and protect their careers through negotiations of player-related standards within the EuroLeague.

ELPA staff is already on the road, conducting annual team meetings with all 18 EuroLeague teams, followed by visits to the teams competing in EuroCup.”
