One of the biggest summer acquisitions of Olympiacos is without a doubt Joel Bolomboy who is excited to be in Greece.
The Former CSKA player and EuroLeague champion is expecting great things in his new team.
“Being here in Olympiacos is exciting. I have transitioned very well. Everyone welcomed me and my family”, said Bolomboy in an interview with EuroHoops’ Antonis Stroggylakis.
The American center started his European career in Russia. Playing four seasons in CSKA he won a EuroLeague title.
“When I was at CSKA, it was always expected of us to win, no matter who the opponent was. I learned a lot there, to be selfless. You don’t go there to produce numbers. I had my role, I embraced it. The goal was to win championships”.
Now he expects the same thing in his new team.
“I will say this, the expectations are increasing here. Guy wants more as time goes on. I can play under pressure. I bring athleticism, play good defense, hit the open shot, and spread the floor. I fit well here. I think we have a good team, and now we want to do better as time goes on”, Bolomboy added.
Here’s what Bolomboy also said on Olympiacos, the differences in the coaching styles of Dimitris Itoudis and Giorgos Bartzokas, and what led to his decision to leave Moscow in February after the war in Ukraine began.
