Dwayne Bacon arrived in Greece, and as a new player of Panathinaikos, he talked to the local media.
He expressed his love for Athens and talked about Panathinaikos’ clash with Olympiacos.
“I saw it as an opportunity, I talked a lot with Paris (Lee) who is one of my favorite teammates. I came many times last year and loved Athens. I really believe that I can help the team with the way I play and score. I thought it was the best place to go to continue my career in Europe. I wanted to come and I’m ready to play. It’s a legendary team and I wanted to be a part of it”, said Bacon.
The former Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic player said he wants to help the Greek team reach the EuroLeague playoffs.
“I am a happy guy and I like to win and play at the highest level. I’m always smiling, win or lose. Last year I did everything I could for Monaco to win and I will do the same here. I’m ready to come and show you what I can do. I want to change the game. I may not be able to do it right away but I want to do it. I want to build things and present my best self. I want us to go to the playoffs and keep winning”.
And of course, he talked about Olympiacos.
“I know the rivalry with Olympiacos and it played a role for me to come. I enjoyed playing with them. They were difficult matches and now that I am in Panathinaikos, I believe that with my addition we can beat Olympiacos. I can’t say much. I bring an elite combination of skills. I can score, help others, and change the game, that’s what I want to do here”.
