Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (4-2) put on an offensive clinic that led to a blowout 116-87 victory against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (4-2) in Round 6 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.

Marcus Howard was the top scorer of the winning side with 23 points.

Maik Kotsar followed with 18, while Darius Thompson added 15 and eight assists, while the whole team got 30 performing a passing clinic.

“Just another win, we had to bounce back from the game past week, and I’m glad we showed a lot of energy tonight. My job is to get everybody involved, making shots, and getting easy baskets. That’s what I’m here for, to help my teammates”, Darius Thompson said.

Howard added: “It is not different than any other game, honestly. Best fans – the passion, the great atmosphere they provide each and every game for us. They are a big reason why we get wins like tonight, so super appreciative of our fans coming in night in and night out”.

Lorenzo Brown had 20 points for Maccabi, Josh Nebo added 16, and Wade Baldwin finished the game with 13 points.

In the first quarter, the Joan Pennarroya team took a significant 15-point advantage and never looked back.

We were not there from the first minute and let them play their game. We knew they are dangerous and we weren’t concentrated from the first minute. Not a nice experience for us and we have to remember it“, the coach of Maccabi Kattash noted.

Maccabi tried to answer in the second period but eventually trailed by 21 points after the first 20 minutes. It was all over after Baskonia ended the third quarter with a 90-67 lead.

“We played a good game, it was important to win at home. We had a great atmosphere and I’m happy. Message for my players is that on Sunday we have another game”, Baskonia coach Joan Pennarroya said.
