EA7 Emporio Armani Milan lost the EuroLeague Italian derby against Virtus Bologna, but the bad news just doesn’t want to stop for the red-and-white team. In fact, Stefano Tonut got injured during the loss.
After the Milan-Virtus Bologna post-game press conference, Ettore Messina had anticipated the news of his status. “Stefano Tonut suffered an adductor stretch”, he said.
The Italian basketball federation, while announcing that Paul Biligha, Giampaolo Ricci, Tommaso Baldasso, and Alessandro Pajola all joined the group before the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers games against Spain and Georgia, confirmed Messina’s words.
“Stefano Tonut will not reach the camp due to an injury last night during the EuroLeague game against Virtus Bologna”, the official statement said.
Later, Olimpia Milano released an official statement about his condition: “During the second half of yesterday’s EuroLeague game against Virtus Bologna, Stefano Tonut suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh adductors which will be re-evaluated in two weeks”.
The former Reyer Venice player joins Shavon Shields, who is expected to be out until at least December due to a foot injury, Billy Baron, who sustained a hamstring injury in his left thigh, and Gigi Datome in the list of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan’s injured players.
