In EuroLeague Round 8, Red Star Belgrade found its first win in Dusko Ivanovic’s era on the red-and-white bench against ASVEL, beating the French team 71-67.
The black-and-white team didn’t have both Nando De Colo and Jonah Mathews. While the former Fenerbahce leader was out due to a muscle contusion, the American guard didn’t travel to Serbia for a different reason.
TJ Parker tried to explain his team’s problems. “In basketball, you have to be ready to play for 40 minutes. We lacked players, we have so many young and not experienced players. You lose the injured Nando De Colo, and in addition, Matthews forgot his passport. And those are the two best scorers in the team”, he said in the post-game press conference.
