In the Round 10 of the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, Olympiacos beat ALBA Berlin 86-76, getting 2nd place in the standings with a 7-3 record.
Joel Bolomboy played a big contribution to the red-and-white Greek team’s win, scoring 12 points while being perfect (5/5) from the field.
After the game, the former CSKA Moscow player spoke to Eurohoops about the victory against the German team. “We have done a good job during the match, not so much at the beginning, but we have made adjustments to defense. When I entered the court, I had energy and I did everything I could”, he said.
The secret was the defense. “I think our defense was the one that made the difference at the end”, he added before going back to the loss against Maccabi Tel Aviv. “The defeat from Maccabi was a step backward for us. But we have seen our mistakes in the analysis and learned from them. It was not only with Maccabi and with Valencia we lost a double-digit match and we have to manage that. We are getting better from our defeats and mistakes, learning from them”, he said about the loss.
Finally, he talked about the upcoming game against Anadolu Efes: “It’s going to be one of the most difficult of the season. We should prepare ourselves as best as possible to win against them in their own home. They always play very well and have an aggressive pace”.
